A tiny bit of my story

-The beginning of my dream

I'll start with a mainstream expression, which fortunately is my main motivation for life; "Follow your dreams, believe in yourself & don't give up." Only a few years ago, I was sitting at home in my tiny town in Norway, watching series every freaking day. I had a continuously routine; woke up, went to school, did homework, and watched Gossip Girl (which I've watched seven times, which I'm sure more people have done too :P ) As I've grown and become more mature, I can't stop thinking about how many hours I've wasted, watching the same series altogether seven whole times!!? That's crazy many, and I've probably missed a lot of knowledge by watching every night and day.. BUT, maybe I've learned something from it as well, unconsciously (?), yet I strongly doubt it. Procrastinating like this, is called to watch something "braindead" in Norwegian (hjernedødt). Probably, the only knowledge you get out of it is relaxation, outfit-ideas which you can redo on your own and English pronunciation & vocabulary. However, When I was 16 y/o, I started working in a grocery shop called Meny, and in a clothing boutique called Sorbet. Here I learned to manage new tasks on my own and how to handle customers. I was building up my network in Norway, and starting my own saving-account. I also had some interests beside this, like sports (handball), drawing (not that I am great at it), cutting in fashion-magazines & sticking different garments together in my own fashion book. My passion for fashion started to evolve, and I started reading fashion-blogs. I was always too afraid to start one myself, but didn't really give it that much thought either. I continued to get inspiration from social media, and I was pretty much following the style everybody had in Norway at that time. I was dragged more and more to different styles and found out that I was enthusiastic about design, creativeness and marketing. Yet, I was not quite sure of what to start studying after High School, so I decided to travel with EF Language School (which you can read about in my other posts). I experienced a whole bunch of new cultures, languages and perspectives on life, learned how to adapt easily, -and how to relate to different kind of people.

Soon, I decided that I didn't want to study in Norway, but in Edinburgh. There, I met two of my closest friends, who taught me even more viewpoints of life. I also gained more knowledge about fashion through self-learning from the world wide web, which developed into mixing and matching old + new clothes. As I wrote about in a previous post, I have now a 4-months 'summer' holiday to look forward to. I was thinking of getting some more experiences through being an intern for a few months, either in marketing or fashion, and who knows? maybe I will get a placement somewhere!? However, since I don't like being bored or procrasinate as I did before, I'm going to work a lot at Meny (the Norwegian grocery store), at Surf City (a wakeboard activity place) in the cafeteria and also be a marketing intern for them. Here I will use what I've learned from this year's studies and take full advantage of these possibilities.

All of these experiences together have formed me to the person I am today and I thank everyone of you who have helped me during this time. I've gotten more self-confident, and I'm proud of having started my own website. I'm excited, and I hope you want to follow me throughout my journey. "The only way to support a revolution is to make your own." I know it requires effort, consistency and determination to keep this website going. Still, I am really passionate about trying. To achieve your dream, you must look for the opportunity within your passions; strike a balance between passions and dreams, your own circumstances and everyday needs. #GIRLBOSS "Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."
